Meijer & Münninghoff Real Estate ("MMRE", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services.

2. Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, and other contact details you provide.
  • Property Information: Details about properties you wish to rent or rent out.
  • Communication Data: Messages you send us via forms, email, or WhatsApp.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you use our website, including pages visited and actions taken.
  • Device Data: IP address, browser type, and device information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide our rental services and respond to your inquiries
  • Match tenants with suitable properties and landlords with qualified tenants
  • Send you relevant property listings and updates
  • Improve our website and services
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Send marketing communications (with your consent)

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data based on:

  • Contract: Processing necessary for our rental services
  • Consent: For marketing communications, analytics and marketing cookies, and advertising measurement
  • Legitimate Interest: For improving our services and website functionality
  • Legal Obligation: When required by law

5. Data Sharing

We may share your information with:

  • Landlords or tenants (as applicable) to facilitate rental agreements
  • Service providers who assist with our operations
  • Advertising and analytics platforms (Google, Meta and OpenAI), only with your consent for marketing or analytics cookies. See section 8.
  • Legal authorities when required by law

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, this happens on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Typically, this is:

  • Active client data: Duration of our business relationship plus 7 years
  • Inquiry data: 2 years from last contact
  • Newsletter subscribers: Until unsubscribed

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability

8. Cookies and Advertising Measurement

When you first visit our website, we ask which cookies you accept. Necessary cookies are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used after you consent, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

  • Necessary: required for the website to work, such as your language, your session and your cookie choice (mmre_consent, kept for 6 months).
  • Analytics (Google Analytics): helps us understand how visitors use our website, so we can improve it.
  • Marketing (Google Ads, Meta and OpenAI): lets us measure which adverts lead to an enquiry or a paid start package, so we do not spend budget on adverts that do not work.

OpenAI Ads (adverts in ChatGPT)

We may advertise in ChatGPT. With your consent for marketing cookies, we use the OpenAI measurement pixel and OpenAI's Conversions API to see whether a visit from such an advert leads to an enquiry or a paid start package. For this purpose:

  • the pixel sets two first-party cookies on our domain: __oppref (the advert click reference, 30 days) and __obref (a random browser reference, 365 days);
  • when you submit an enquiry or pay the start package, we send OpenAI the type of event (and, for a payment, the amount), the page, your IP address and browser type, and your e-mail address and phone number in hashed (SHA-256) form, so the event can be matched to an advert;
  • OpenAI uses this data to report and optimise our advertising. According to OpenAI, it is currently not used to personalise ChatGPT for you.

Without marketing consent, the OpenAI pixel is not loaded and no data is sent to OpenAI. If you withdraw consent, we stop sending data and remove these cookies. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). More information is available in OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/policies.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
